| So, you've probably gotten the new desktop client's UI if you're reading this and wondering how to revert the UI back to the classic look of Discord. | |
| This is pretty easy if followed properly, For context, this new UI is called the "Desktop Visual Refresh" and was experimented with by Discord from May 2024. | |
| Anyway, back to the actual guide. | |
| 1. Download Vencord's installer from https://vencord.dev (This is the only official Vencord link!) | |
| 2. Open the installer, install Vencord (It should show your Discord install path) | |
| 3. Once installed, relaunch your Discord client and go to settings, you should see a "Vencord" category. | |
| 4. Go to plugins, search for the plugin called "Experiments" and restart the Discord client. | |
| 5. Go back to settings, scroll down in the menu and you should see alot of new options in the category "Developer Only" | |
| 6. Go to Experiments and search for "Desktop Visual Refresh" then click on it and set it to "Not Eligible" | |
| 7. Enjoy it while it still lasts! | |

| If you don't know how to import it, you can follow these steps: | |
| 1. Open Discord settings, go to the "Vencord" category and click the "Vencord" option. | |
| 2. Click "Edit QuickCSS" and paste the code in | |
| 3. Exit the QuickCSS window and your done! Discord should be looking mostly normal again. |

What about making non-selected servers have a circle icon instead of a square? I can't tell what server I'm on easily.

had anyone tried to make CSS code specifically for the voice/video buttons to revert them to look more like the old UI look?
cause i hate that i have to keep going into the voice channel to use something like the soundboard
Very late to the party but I just finished a 5 hour css marathon to get back to what I remember being the last good UI in April 2025:

neat, but the chatbox is still rather big ngl
edit: there is a gap at top of window
I haven't touched the chatbox, especially after they finally realigned it. I got used to the "... is typing" being above now.
Anyway, not sure about which gap you're referring?

the list gets cutoff, the top has small gap
That's... Normal? That's the main discord bar. It might look a bit weird but I'm really not sure how it was done before as honestly I forgot. Having the server list go ALL they way to the window extremity would look even worse personally.

went to load it into my quickcss on vencord and it doesnt seem to work :(

well, the other elements seem to be fine but this little bar ~~basically the main thing i came here to fix~~ doesnt seem to work. unless thats intentional and i misunderstood what your theme is trying to accomplish :P
I've tried changing that. It's a pandora's box, also every new update keeps breaking the theme so I think soon ™️ I'll probably stop maintining it which is unfortunate, but that's Discord for you

This theme also doesn't work to shrink the username/voice chat box either unfortunately
Found this tread, and i'm going to add https://mairiosipla.github.io/unshittify-discord to the list of things you might want to check out. It does not aim to revert all the changes, just to fix layout shenanigans, while keeping the more rounded/floating design.

Discord sure blew it this time. I mean: it's not that I hate the new settings (although they do take up too much space), but the chat list is almost unreadable now, due to the fonts being way too small. QuickCSS used to do the trick, but not anymore.
