How-to properly format your USB-stick to work with REKORDBOX and all the CDJ/XDJs.

⚠️ Your USB-stick MUST be in this format:

💡 FAT16 / FAT32 💡 Master Boot Record (MBR), not GUID Partition Table! 💡 Single partition

🐧 on Arch Linux:

1️⃣ Install mkfs.fat if not yet already:

yay dosfstools

2️⃣ Find the name of your USB stick:

sudo fdisk -l

3️⃣ Format it to FAT16/MBR:

sudo mkfs.fat -F 16 -n REKORDBOX /dev/sda

🪟 On Windows 11:

1️⃣ Run the Command Prompt as Administrator:

diskpart

2️⃣ Find the USB stick:

list disk

3️⃣ Format it to FAT16/32 (Windows decides):

format fs=fat label=REKORDBOX quick
