Privacy Policy for Analytica

Introduction

Analytica ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App").

Information We Collect

Financial Data

  • Transactions: Amount, description, category, date, and type (income/expense)
  • Customer Information: Name, phone number, and details for business transactions
  • Assets: Money sources, asset values, and historical data
  • Financial Summaries: Net worth, cash flow, spending patterns, and financial insights

Personal Information

  • Profile Data: Name, email address, and phone number (stored locally on your device)
  • App Preferences: Backup settings, onboarding status, and user preferences

Device Information

  • Storage Permissions: We request storage permissions to enable backup and restore functionality
  • Internet Permission: Requested for potential future features (currently not actively used)

How We Use Your Information

Local Storage

All your financial and personal data is stored locally on your device using:

  • Room Database: For secure, encrypted local storage of all financial data
  • SharedPreferences: For app settings and user preferences
  • Local Files: For backup files (when backup is enabled)

Backup Functionality

  • When you enable "Auto Backup," your data is saved to Documents/Analytica/ on your device
  • Backup files are stored in JSON format and remain on your device
  • You can manually restore data from backup files at any time
  • Backup files are never uploaded to any external server

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT:

  • Share your data with third parties
  • Sell your personal or financial information
  • Upload your data to external servers
  • Use analytics or tracking services
  • Collect data for advertising purposes
  • Access your data without your explicit permission

Your data remains 100% private and local to your device.

Data Security

We implement the following security measures:

  • Local-Only Storage: All data is stored on your device using Android's secure storage mechanisms
  • Encrypted Database: Room database uses Android's built-in encryption
  • No Cloud Sync: Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it
  • Permission-Based Access: Storage permissions are only used for backup/restore functionality you control

Permissions Explained

Storage Permissions

  • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Allows reading backup files from your device
  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Allows creating backup files in Documents/Analytica folder
  • Note: On Android 10+ (API 29+), we use MediaStore API which provides scoped storage access

Internet Permission

  • Currently declared but not actively used
  • Reserved for potential future features (if any)

Your Rights and Choices

You have complete control over your data:

  1. Access Your Data: All data is accessible within the app
  2. Export Your Data: Use the backup feature to create a JSON export
  3. Delete Your Data: Uninstall the app to remove all local data
  4. Control Backups: Enable or disable automatic backups in Settings
  5. Restore Data: Restore from backup files at any time

Data Retention

  • Active Use: Data is retained as long as you use the app
  • App Uninstallation: All local data is deleted when you uninstall the app
  • Backup Files: Backup files in Documents/Analytica remain until you manually delete them

Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Third-Party Services

Currently, our App does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

Data Deletion

To delete all your data:

  1. Uninstall the App: This removes all app data from your device
  2. Delete Backup Files: Manually delete files from Documents/Analytica/ folder if desired
