So I've never tried 'vibe coding' though I do kinda love using these modern AI models to help me code. But a non programmer friend was asking for tips on a project he's considering 'vibe coding'. I don't have 'great' tips, but I do have some decent guesses. Here's my thoughts (writen as a gist to be possibly useful for others).

I really don't know how well 'vibe coding' works but hopefully this helps. Please let me know how it goes - I'm curious what you find!

Assumed background of dev:

no programming experience
wants to make a webapp that someday might work pretty good as a mobile app
no web UI design experience

Using Ollama on an Asus Flow Z13 (128GB RAM) and Linux

Environment setup

I used Bazzite Linux because it seems to have the best 395+ CPU support right now. It also installs and uses podman by default. But the following instructions should work on any linux if:

You have (very) recent AMD kernel drivers installed
Podman or Docker installed (I think the instructions before should also work with docker if you just change the tool name)
Go into the BIOS and bump up the amount of RAM given over to the GPU side by default (I used 64GB but you do you)

Beta test request for advanced SiK (3dr etc...) telemetry users

Dear APM friends,

We're interested in rolling out a new release of the SiK firmware, but since this firmware so key to safe vehicle operation we want to do a small beta of 'experienced' users/devs first. Would you mind downloading the firmware and installing it on your 3dr telemetry radios?

Steps to install this update

Download the updater tool
Download the beta test build (This will be release 1.8)

Please try and run these steps before the talk (if possible) - they will predownload a bunch of misc build dependancies. If you encounter problems with these instructions, feel free to email me. -kevin
