Privacy Policy for GoToAppleMaps

Overview

GoToAppleMaps ("the App") is a privacy-focused tool that converts Google Maps Saved Places exports (CSV files) into Apple Maps Guides. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your data.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

What the App Processes

  • CSV Files: You provide Google Maps export files (CSV format) for conversion. These files are processed entirely on your device and through Apple's APIs.
  • Location Names: Place names from your CSV files are sent to Apple Maps API solely to find matching Apple Maps locations. No data is stored after processing.

What We Do NOT Collect

  • No personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • No device identifiers or tracking IDs
  • No usage analytics or telemetry
  • No location data from your device
  • No cookies or similar tracking technologies
  • No advertising identifiers

Data Processing

  • All CSV file processing occurs locally on your device.
  • Place name searches are performed via Apple's MapKit and Apple Maps API, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Guide URLs are generated locally using Apple Maps place identifiers.
  • No user data is sent to our servers — we do not operate any servers that receive user data.

Data Storage

  • The App stores your conversion history (guide names, URLs, and timestamps) locally on your device using standard iOS/macOS storage.
  • You can delete this history at any time from the Saved Guides screen.
  • No data is stored in the cloud or on external servers.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following Apple services:

  • Apple MapKit: For local place search on your device
  • Apple Maps API: For finding Apple Maps place identifiers
  • StoreKit: For optional in-app tip jar purchases (processed entirely by Apple)

No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
