ATS Scorecard Workflows

A Visual Walkthrough of Greenhouse, Ashby & Lever

Prepared for: Jenny Rector, Remotely
Date: February 6, 2026

PART 1: GREENHOUSE

Overview

Greenhouse uses a Categories + Attributes model for scorecards. Categories group related evaluation criteria, and Attributes are the specific things you rate candidates on.

Screenshot 1: Complete Scorecard Overview

Greenhouse Scorecard Overview

What You're Seeing:

Top Section — "Configure a scorecard"

  • The scorecard configuration interface during job setup
  • Categories are listed vertically (e.g., "Candidate Scorecard")
  • Each category contains multiple attributes that interviewers will rate

Middle Section — "Fill out a scorecard"

  • The interviewer's view after an interview
  • Three main areas:
    1. Key Takeaways — Free-text field for overall impressions, pros, cons
    2. Attributes — Individual ratings for each evaluation criterion
    3. Overall Recommendation — Final pass/fail decision

Bottom Section — "View a submitted scorecard"

  • Shows how scorecards appear on the candidate profile
  • Organized by interview stage
  • Team members can see all submitted feedback

Screenshot 2: Rating System Deep-Dive

Source: Greenhouse Support Documentation

Greenhouse Ratings Overview

What You're Seeing:

Rating Scale Design

  • Greenhouse uses a 4-point scale (not 5-point)
  • This is intentional — it forces a decision by removing the "neutral middle" option

The Four Ratings:

Symbol Rating Meaning
Strongly Disagree Clear concerns — not recommended
Disagree Below expectations
Agree Meets expectations
Strongly Agree Exceeds expectations

Why This Matters:

  • Research cited in the doc shows humans respond more consistently to words than numbers
  • The 4-point scale (vs. 5-point) reduces "fence-sitting" behavior
  • Colors (red, yellow, green) reinforce meaning visually
