Overview

PR Size Guard is a Chrome browser extension that displays Pull Request size badges on GitHub pages. This privacy policy explains how the extension handles user data.

Data Collection

PR Size Guard does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

We do not collect:

  • Personal information
  • Browsing history
  • GitHub credentials
  • Repository data
  • Code or file contents
  • Analytics or usage data

How the Extension Works

  1. The extension runs only on GitHub Pull Request pages
  2. It reads PR statistics (files changed, lines added/deleted) directly from the page
  3. All processing happens locally in your browser
  4. No data is sent to external servers

Permissions Explained

"Read and change your data on github.com"

  • Why: Required to read PR statistics from the GitHub page and inject the size badge
  • What we access: Only publicly visible PR metadata (file count, line count)
  • What we DON'T access: Your code, private repos, credentials, or personal data

"Storage"

  • Why: To save your custom threshold settings
  • What we store: Only your threshold preferences (e.g., "Small = 5 files, 100 lines")
  • Where: Locally in Chrome's built-in sync storage

Third-Party Services

PR Size Guard does NOT use:

  • ❌ Analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
  • ❌ Tracking pixels
  • ❌ Advertising networks
  • ❌ External APIs
  • ❌ Cloud services

Data Sharing

We do NOT share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data.

Data Security

Since no data is collected or transmitted, there is no data to secure. All extension functionality runs locally in your browser.

Children's Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date.

Open Source

PR Size Guard is transparent in its functionality. The extension requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function.
