Easy enough, just go to https://openaudible.org/. Keep in mind the tool costs $100 for a perpetual license, but it handles all the decryption and conversion for you.

Maintain backups of your Kindle & Audible Library
Note
This guide is designed for Linux users, specifically Ubuntu
Warning
This only works for older books. Newer titles (after 2018) require use of the new Kindle app, which does not work with this method. Amazon is actively trying to DRM us to hell and back,
- Install the latest copy of Calibre
- Download the latest copy (yes, the beta) of DeDRM Tools
- Install the latest copy of Wine
- Add this certificate to
/usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/ - Run
sudo dpkg-reconfigure ca-certificates- Scroll through the list and be sure to enable the
VeriSign_Class_3_Public_...certificate
- Scroll through the list and be sure to enable the
- Install the 1.40 version of the Kindle for PC app
- Old enough to work via Wine
- New enough to still download "special content"
- Torrent via LimeWire
- Virus Total said this was safe
- Install Python 3.8.7 in WINE
- Be sure to bind the
pyexecutable such that it's available via CMD
- Be sure to bind the
- Run
py -m pip install -U pycryptodomein WINE console - Open the Kindle app in Wine
- Log in
- Download your books
- Open Calibre and install the plugin | video tutorial
- Open plugin settings and add your kindle key | video tutorial
- Drag and drop the
*.azwfiles into Calibre - Enjoy!
