Privacy Policy for Posi News

This privacy policy applies to the Posi News mobile application (the "Application") created by bad seal studios ("Service Provider") as an Ad-Supported service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

1. Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information to provide and improve the service. Because the Application uses passwordless authentication, we collect specific identifiers to manage your experience and secure your account.

User-Provided Information

  • Authentication Data: When you sign in using our passwordless system (e.g., Email OTP or Magic Link), we collect and store your email address. This is used to identify your account, save your preferences, and sync your "favorites" across devices.
  • Contact Information: If you contact us for support, we may retain your email address and the contents of your message.

Automatically Collected Information

The Application utilizes the Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK and Expo SDK, which automatically collect:

  • Identifiers: Your device’s Advertising ID (IDFA for iOS, AAID for Android) and SDK Instance IDs.
  • Network Information: Your IP address (used to estimate general location such as city or country).
  • Usage Data: App launch times, pages visited, time spent on specific news stories, and ad interactions (clicks/views).
  • Diagnostics: Information related to app performance, such as crash logs and performance metrics.

2. Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Posi News utilizes Artificial Intelligence to enhance your news-reading experience:

  • Content Summarization: AI is used to summarize news articles and categorize them based on sentiment (positivity).
  • Personalization: AI components process your anonymized interaction data to recommend news stories relevant to your interests.
  • Data Training: We do not use your personal email or private interactions to train foundational AI models. All AI processing is performed in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

3. Account and Data Deletion

In compliance with Apple App Store and Google Play requirements for apps providing account functionality:

  • Right to Delete: You have the right to delete your account and all associated personal data at any time.
  • How to Delete: You can initiate account deletion directly within the Settings menu of the Application. Alternatively, you may email a deletion request to badsealsup@gmail.com.
  • Effect of Deletion: Upon deletion, we will remove your email address and saved "favorites" from our active databases.

The Application does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided an email address for login, we will delete that information immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy here and updating the "Last Updated" date.

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Posi News mobile application (the "Service") operated by bad seal studios ("us", "we", or "our").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. AI Content Disclaimer

Posi News utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) to summarize and categorize news content for your convenience.

  • Accuracy: AI-generated summaries are provided "as-is." We do not guarantee the 100% accuracy, completeness, or reliability of these summaries.
  • Not Advice: Content provided by the Service does not constitute medical, legal, financial, or professional advice.
  • Original Sources: Users are encouraged to verify information by visiting the original news sources linked within the Application. We are not responsible for the content or availability of external websites.

3. User Accounts & Access

  • Passwordless Login: You agree to provide a valid email address to access account-based features. You are responsible for the security of your device and the email account used for login.
  • Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service.
  • Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to our interests.

4. Intellectual Property

  • Our Property: The Application design, logo, and custom AI-curated summaries (as a collection) are the property of bad seal studios.
  • Third-Party Rights: All original news articles, photography, and trademarks belong to their respective publishers. Posi News provides links and summaries under "Fair Use" principles for reporting and commentary.

5. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Scraping: Using automated systems or bots to extract news data from the Service.
  • Abuse: Attempting to interfere with the proper working of the Service or bypassing any security measures.
  • Reverse Engineering: Attempting to extract the source code or underlying AI models of the Application.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, bad seal studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service or any errors in AI-generated content.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of your local jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
